Flip Flopping

Had some free time so thought I'd find some examples of Presidential flip-flopping.  Wasn't too difficult.  Just keyworded "Obama criticizes" in a search engine, then "Obama praises"  and compared articles...  Here's some examples of what I found...

Sept 18, 2008  -- Chicago Sun Times

"Barack Obama on Thursday mocks John McCain's suggestion to create a commission to study the economic meltdown....  "The events of the past few days have made clear that we need to do more right now. " Obama said.  "We do not have time for commissions and we can't afford to lurch back and forth between positions when dealing with an economic crisis, like my opponent has."

Obama says he respects Fox’s point of view - "O'Reilly wrapped things up (the interview) by asking Obama if he thinks Fox News now treats him fairly.  "I would say that the news guys, I think, try to do a good job," Obama said. "Although, look, let's face it: Fox News has a point of view. There's nothing wrong with that. There's a strong history, in America, of all news having some sort of point of view. Fox News has a point of view, and I think that's part of our democracy."   "Do you respect it?" O'Reilly asked. "Absolutely," Obama said.

Obama Criticizes China on Yuan, Praises Economic Team -  "China’s leaders haven’t done “everything they said would be done” to allow the nation’s currency to rise in value, Obama said yesterday... “What we’ve said to them is you need to let your currency rise,”  The yuan is “valued lower than market conditions say it should be” and that gives China “an advantage in trade, Obama said."

U.S. Declines to Name China Currency Manipulator - "The Obama administration on Friday declined to cite China for manipulating its currency to gain trade advantages against the United States... "It's plain as the nose on your face that China manipulates its currency," Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said Friday in criticizing the administration's failure to cite China."

Obama backs letting tax cuts on rich expire: W.House - "President Barack Obama remains committed to extend Bush-era tax cuts for middle class Americans but thinks those for the wealthy ought to expire to help ease the U.S. budget deficit, the White House said on Tuesday.... rejecting Republican calls to extend all tax cuts beyond 2010"
