The All-Powerful Big-Six

We've written on media control before and today will do so again..

Back in 1983, approximately 50 corporations controlled the vast majority of all news media in the United States.

At present, ownership of the news media has been concentrated in the hands of just six incredibly powerful media corporations.

These evil, greedy and politically & socially influential corporate behemoths control most of what we watch, hear and read every single day.

They own television networks, cable channels, movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, music labels and even many of our favorite websites.
And whether due to apathy or ignorance, most Americans don’t even stop to think about who is feeding them the endless hours of news and entertainment that they constantly ingest.  They don’t really seem to care about who owns the media though they should.

So as we said before, back in 1983, 50 corporations pretty much controlled all media.. By 1987, the 50 companies had shrunk to 29. … In 1990, 29 became 23. …

By 1997, that number decreased from 23 corporations to 10 and after the Time/Warner Brothers merger of 2000, the number became what it is at present:  6

That is as accurate a list as we could come up with at the moment..

These six entities basically control what we all think socially, politically and about life in general..

These gigantic media corporations do not exist to objectively tell the truth to the American people.  Rather, the primary purpose of their existence is to make money and keep people docile...

They provide information but never any knowledge or encouragement for the audience to actually act/react outwardly upon it..  And all programming is meant to project racial/ethnic fantasy and utopia rather than be an accurate light upon the rotten condition of the world..
~ 10 Corporations combined sell hundreds of products..

Can't sell soap and sandwiches if they show people in need of soap and a sandwich living in their cars or on the street..

These gigantic media corporations are not going to do anything to threaten their relationships with their biggest advertisers (such as the largest pharmaceutical companies that literally spend billions on advertising)

One way or another these gigantic media corporations are always going to express the ideological viewpoints of their owners.
Real news and Truth is now found in independent media like here at A&G where no advertiser money is taken so no outside influences manipulate or mold our daily message which is to wake up, be aware of the reality of things, and learn to think and make decisions for yourself..

Whether you agree with our points of view or think we are full of um.. poo, if we stimulated thought and/or motivated you to question, then A&G served its purpose.
