~ movie poster for Steve Martin in 'The Jerk' (1978)
At best we are perpetually fractured as two Americas
At worst, many cracks and fissures making more 'Americas' than one can bear to openly count
The whole 'black lives matter' thing and the killings in Dallas just reaffirm the obvious
And no, black lives do not matter.
Why should the life of a black person matter to us if they don't matter to them in their own communities?
On average, between 2009 and 2014, 119 blacks were killed at the hands of police officers (black and white).
During the same period, on average 4,472 blacks were killed by other blacks.
In other words, statistically if you are black, you are 40x more likely to have your life taken by one of your 'niggas' or 'brothers' than by someone in law enforcement.
Black lives do not matter.
It has been over 150 years since Emancipation and not one or two, but Three Constitutional Amendments enacted for their protection and benefit,,
And compared to every other group of people to ever legally or illegally enter this country, they're still at the statistical bottom when it comes to education, economic opportunity and social mobility.
If it wasn't for entertainment and professional sports, the black race would be even more of a lost cause..
It is interesting that Black Panther-wannabe movement is trying to be relevant during the Presidency of this current this Oreo cookie in charge
Either Obama's daily detached 'Mr Cool' presence emboldens those lost people with a power fetish or they know Obama has been incompetent; a total failure who has done thing to improve the lives of blacks and are tired of pretending otherwise
Over the weekend, some black leaders have said while they never could or would advocate violence upon the police (uh huh), they do understand why some do it. (that's called subtle honesty)
Well we understand why police officers would be inclined to go shoot blacks.
Even though they shoot and kill more white.
Cops killed nerly twice as many whites as blacks in 2015. According to data compiled by The Washington Post, 50% of the victims of fatal police shootings were white, while 26% were black
In addition, blacks were charged with 62% of robberies, 57% of murders and 45% of assaults in the 75 biggest counties in the country, despite only comprising roughly 15 percent of the population in these counties
Such a concentration of criminal violence in minority communities means that officers will be disproportionately confronting armed and often resisting suspects in those communities, raising officers’ own risk of using lethal force,
And in case you're wondering, in spite of only representing 13% of the population on average 40% of politician
Black and white have always been separate; always been at odds
In spite of Hollywood's best efforts, most whites really do not want their beautiful daughters being fucked by black boyfriends or hubbies) and producing mulatto caramel colored children and neither race really wish to socialize with each other outside work unless put in situations where no one has a choice.
In fact there is something called a 'Black Code' among those people which refers to the attitude among Blacks that ‘‘relationships with whites must be kept at arm’s length maintaining a silent us against them mindset. Blacks who appear too friendly and comfortable around whites are viewed with suspicion; their blackness in question.”
Blacks and whites live and interact together mainly because we've been forced to.
It started with public school busing, continued into college and then the workplace due to Affirmative Action and since realtors are not allowed to legally discriminate, what often saves many whites from being forced to have black neighbors is extremely high property and school board taxes
Really the only thing that keeps us from never ending Civil War is fake-phony 'tolerance' and the comfort in knowing at the end of the day when around friend and family. each race can simply escape the other until the next day's challenges of life.
There should never have been slavery and never should have been emancipation..
Even that supposed American deity Lincoln considered it.. How sincerely? Who knows..
Of only a US leader back then had the courage to follow through
