An Imagination Exercise: Re-Writing the Laws

Last night (Monday) we here in A&G land got together over chicken fingers and colby jack cheese cubes to, answer the open question as to what US laws currently on the books including what is specified in the Constitution would we either write, re-write or strengthen

We're sure not everything we came up with will readers agree or support, and who knows, perhaps every single 'law' we created you might cringe horribly at..

But that's totally fine.. As with everything we present, the goal is as much to stimulate thought in you our guest as it is to present our own unique view on this crazy-kooky world we live in..

As we sat around, our staff here came up with quite a doozy of 'laws' and for time constraint and clarity, we'll streamline the best ideas into categories...
First Amendment

** Freedom of Speech 100% fully protected from punishment and/or retribution by government, corporations and public entities....

**  No individual may lose their livelihood (be fired from employment or be forced to close or sell his/her business) because of opinions uttered, no matter how offensive the words or depictions

** Those private citizens offended (those not in the public eye) can seek redress via the court system.  A public person can seek redress via the courts only when a family member (spouse, child, etc.) who is not themselves consciously in the public eye is portrayed in a negative or offensive light.

**  Those in the public eye are allowed to be freely mocked because they are no longer private individuals but conducting public business where their name is essentially a registered or trademarked entity equal to a company
** No individual or group of people may for any reason seek to control or curtail language or any word in the English language for any reason and any person who physically harms another because of it is to be charged with a Felony...

Ex 1:  Blacks may NOT control who can and can not say 'Nigger' then use economic pressure or physical harm to others back it up.

Ex 2: TV Networks may Not bleep the word 'Nigger' when spoken by Caucasians but allow uncensored when a black person utters it.
The word is not the profanity equivalent of 'Fuck', 'Shit' or Cocksucker' and networks that treat and censor the word as such, will be fined by the FCC per transgression.

** Direct or indirect threats to physically harm another person is not protected speech but abstract 'wishing' ("I wish someone would slap you") is not illegal.

In addition, the President, whoever that may be in office is not superior to the rest of the nation..  One can 'wish' whatever they wish in spoken or written about anyone without fear of consequence.
Gun Ownership

**  The individual has the right to own guns without government infringement..

**  If that person wishes to own one, two or six guns or even semi-automatic weapons is the right of the person to decide.  Any weapon that is good enough for law enforcement to possess is good enough for the citizenry to have the right to possess..

**  All gun purchases must go through a 14 day waiting period to minimize the chance someone is seeking ownership based on a moment of anger/rage

But because background checks require the knowledge of home addresses which makes it easy for government to confiscate in a time of Marshal law, background checks are illegal.
Government Intrusion on Privacy

**  The Patriot Act would be illegal;  NSA can only spy on citizens when it has probable cause and receives permission from a judge much like that of a search warrant.

**  No citizen can be spied on for anything deemed non-essential to the imminent protection of this nation and its citizens from harm.   For any normal misdemeanor or felony offense, it is up to local law enforcement to find perpetrators and bring to justice.
Capital Punishment

** The Death Penalty is illegal because the State does not have the right to take the life of its citizens.
** For those found guilty and ordered to serve a life sentence, he/she is limited to one appeal and unless overturned, will spend the remainder of one's life in solitary confinement.

** With exception of pregnancy due to rape, incest or the mother's health in jeopardy, abortion is Illegal.

**  Anyone who seeks one out and is found guilty will be placed in a mental health facility for a period of no less than 8 weeks, and anyone who performs one illegally will be charged with Felony, serve minimum of 10yrs per offense and lose medical license permanently

Life is precious- this goes for the unborn as well as the murderer scum in prison and currently laws are in the book in every state where if a pregnant woman is killed, that counts as TWO murders, not one meaning the fetus inside is legally treated as 'life'

**  The legal age to consume alcohol is lowered from 21 to 18... (It is absolute bullshit that 18yr olds who are of legal age to serve and fight and die in mindless foreign entanglements for the 'Flag' are prevented from sitting down at a bar and order a beer)

**  Anyone arrested for a DUI or DWI and found guilty (or accused pleads so) must spend a minimum of 10 consecutive days behind bars even if no one else was involved or hurt
~ Why is this man not in prison or dead?

**  Marijuana is once again made Illegal with specific and sole purpose being for medicinal purposes like glaucoma, cancer, etc..

**  If you are caught using or in possession, you serve 2 years per offense and it is marked on your credit score same as Bankruptcy meaning you screwed up your ability to get credit and loans for Seven years i.e.  Stop Doing it!

**  If you are caught using or in possession and under the age of 24, besides any fines or potential jail time served, you will not be eligible for any Federal or State subsidized financial aid including scholarships, grants and/or student loans for at least 36 months from the time of sentencing.

** Any movie or television studio which creates entertainment content that pushes forth a positive message of marijuana use without responsibly showing its negative physical and sociological drawback, will be subject to a fine no greater than $100k per offense.

We're unfortunately a couple hundred years to late to add this to the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution but nonetheless..

**  A state has a right to secede from the rest of the Union if its citizens do not feel its able to get fair representation and does not believe the Government is satisfactory to addressing its political grievances.

**  To secede, a state must have 75% or more of its elected officials in both State houses of Congress approve as well as the Governor of that state sign off on the measure.

Anything less and the act of seceding is illegal but if criteria is satisfied, it is then against the law for the Union to take any action politically or militarily to prevent it.
~  Amazing that no one during the Constitutional Convention of 1787, especially the southern states had the intelligence and/or foresight to address officially the legality of secession and have it specified so there'd be no ambiguity.

Now its your turn to brainstorm..

What laws would you change or alter or repeal to make this a better nation in your eyes?

Happy 225th John Tyler!

If you ask people who their favorite all-time President is, you're almost always sure to get some kind of response..

Perhaps someone contemporary like Clinton or Reagan, or going back a few years like Truman or Kennedy..

And others may go the historical route and express their favorite President is Washington, Jefferson or Lincoln..

Well ours is John Tyler who was our 10th President and just so happened to celebrate his 225th birthday yesterday (Sunday) March 29th
~ Obama & Hillary in White House 'Blue Room' chatting as Tyler looks on..

We were going to get a cake and celebrate the event but its quite difficult fitting 225 separate individual candles on a cake much less blowing them out

He was not the most famous of Presidents and most historians, stuck-up politically correct people as they are, have judged Tyler's Administration harshly.   But they like most elite view life in a narrow prism

So as we honor the man by presenting ten interesting factoids about John Tyler's life, we will explain with brevity why we admire the man as our favorite.
1)  John Tyler was the first President to assume the role not based on election.

In 1840, Tyler of Virginia joined up as Vice Presidential nominee to support War of 1812 hero William Henry Harrison of Ohio as a means of balancing the Whig ticket (the Whig party ultimately collapsed a decade or so later then reformed as the Republican Party in the mid 1850's)

The 'Tippacanoe & Tyler Too' campaign was a success and in March 1841, Harrison was inaugurated.  During his inauguration speech he stood in cold rain for an hour without a hat, developed pneumonia and died one month into office.

Tyler was now President
But there was nothing specific in the Constitution at the time which automatically made Tyler the next in line and others assumed Tyler would simply hold the position until a new election was called.

So Tyler took it upon himself to rush to Washington, get sworn in and move into the White House before anyone had a chance to kick him out.   And "His Accidency" as many at the time called him, set the precedent for succession and even his opponents were forced to accept him as their President.

Just one of many reasons we admire Tyler's strength of will and individualism in a time when politicians were just as cowardly and devious then as they are at present.
2)  Tyler is the only President to not have a VP...

Had Tyler died in office, all that he did to secure the eventual line of succession we recognize today and made law with the 25th Amendment would have been for nought

New elections would have simply been drawn up.
3)  Tyler successfully vetoed the Second Bank of the US

The Bank of the US was a predecessor to what we all know and loathe - the Federal Reserve and the Evil, Greedy, Sinful bankers of the day had tried once before to get their centralized bank passed but President at the time Andrew Jackson vetoed it..

This angered the banking establishment so much at the time, they purposely triggered what is historically known as the Panic of 1837 which was really an economic depression.

So figuring this time with a Whig in office instead of a Democrat, these monsters would get their way...

For though Tyler was a Whig on certain issues, he was more so a Democrat on important issues like finance/the economy, the rights of states vs a centralized government and embraced agrarian causes vs the industrial/Wall Street crowd.

This decision upset his cabinet so much, every member except one ultimately resigned.  Of course they were really Harrison's group but imagine anyone today with courage of conviction to risk losing the support of his own party in such a public display?
4)  Tyler annexed Texas paving the way for Mexican War

This was actually a wonderful thing and to this day has benefited the US immensely

Politicians at the time were on the fence on annexation because they didn't want Texas to become a slave state and ruin the balance of slave v free state in the Senate.   So like politicians today, they dragged their feet even after the defeat at the Alamo..

Tyler annexed Texas a few days before leaving office in 1845 and within a couple years the new President, James Polk declared war on Mexico.
Thanks to winning of the war, the size of the US territory grew by double including the land now known as Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah and California..

Even more important, remember that gold was discovered in California in 1849..  Imagine if that was still Mexican land..  They would have greatly benefited and the US economically would have suffered.

So Tyler did a great thing which is why he is honored with the naming of Tyler, Tx.
5)  Tyler was the 1st President to face Impeachment proceedings

The Whigs in Congress were so furious to see their power usurped by Tyler through the banking veto and other blocking of legislation they were trying to pass, an official resolution for Impeachment was made introduced by resolution in mid 1842.

The motion ultimately was tabled until the next year where it failed to get enough votes but Tyler was so strong willed and fearless a leader, that he was able to provoke enemies in Congress to seek such a measure to remove him from office.
~ John Tyler in wax

6)  Tyler is the only US President to serve in the Confederacy

In 1861 after the first Confederate Congress was established, Tyler was appointed as one of Virginia's Representatives though being too ill to serve officially in that capacity.

Tyler died in January 1862 and his casket was draped with a Confederate flag.

Lincoln, being a petty, pathetic man did not acknowledge Tyler's passing, the only Presidential death not officially recognized by Washington
7) Tyler was first President who's First Lady passed away while in office...

Tyler's first wife Letitia Christian Tyler suffered a paralytic stroke in 1839 that left her an invalid.

As First Lady, she remained in the upstairs living quarters of the White House coming downstairs just once, to attend the wedding of her daughter (Elizabeth) in January 1842.

She suffered another stroke later that year and passed away on Sept 10, 1842
8)  And the first President to re-marry while still President

Tyler then married Julia Gardiner who was 30yrs younger than the President in July 1844.. Ultimately she bore him 7 children to add to the 7 children which Letitia bore.

14 children:  Gotta admire such a verile President
9) What brought Tyler and his 2nd wife Julia together was USS Princeton Disaster of 1844

A ceremonial cruise down the Potomac River was held aboard the newly built USS Princeton on February 28, 1844, the day after completion of the original Texas annexation treaty. (ultimately it was delayed by another year due to this incident)

Aboard the ship were 400 guests, including Tyler and his cabinet, as was the world's largest naval gun, the "Peacemaker." The gun was ceremonially fired several times in the afternoon to the great delight of the onlookers, who then filed downstairs to offer a toast.

Several hours later, Captain Robert F. Stockton was convinced by the crowd to fire one more shot and at once an explosion was heard from above: the gun had malfunctioned.
Tyler was unhurt, having remained safely below deck, but a number of others were killed instantly, including his crucial cabinet members, Thomas Gilmer (Sec of State) and Abel Upshur (Sec of Navy) - both men died instantly.

Also killed or mortally wounded was Rep. David Gardiner of New York, which had a devastating effect on his daughter, Julia, who fainted and was carried to safety by the President himself.  Julia later recovered from her grief and fell in love with and married Tyler
~ Lyon Tyler, Sr.

10)  Tyler has two living grandsons even though he died 153years ago...

The two living grandsons are through his son Lyon Gardiner Tyler.   Lyon was born in 1853 and 1924 when he was 69yrs old, he successfully impregnated his wife and Lyon Gardiner Tyler, Jr., was born.

A second son, Harrison Ruffin Tyler was born in 1928..

Both Lyon Jr (91yrs old) and Harrison (87yrs old) are still alive.

Black Dominance on Network TV

There was an excellent article the other day on about the over-saturation of blacks and other minorities of color on network TV where the pendulum has shifted recently where a group only of 13% population is in practically every TV program and in every ad...

Besides actually reading the article, one can tell it was great as well as truthful because so many blacks and liberal white-guilters took angry exception to it.

Call it one of the major drawbacks of having a black President i.e. his direct/indirect influence on popular culture or an example of what happens when corporate interests push illusionary and often utopic representations of black people that do not exist in Reality for mere profit motive.

Nonetheless it is a very bad trend..
From the article:

"Instead of opening the field for actors of any race to compete for any role in a color-blind manner, there has been a significant number of parts designated as ethnic this year, making them off-limits for Caucasian actors, some agents signal.

Many pilot characters this year were listed as open to all ethnicities, but when reps would call to inquire about an actor submission, they frequently have been told that only non-Caucasian actors would be considered. “Basically 50% of the roles in a pilot have to be ethnic, and the mandate goes all the way down to guest parts,” one talent representative said.

In one instance, after a number of actors of different ethnicities tested for two roles in a pilot this year, two Caucasian actors ended up being the top choices for the two remaining regular parts.

However, because of a mandate from the studio and network, one of the roles had to diverse, so the pilot could only cast one of the top choices and pass on the other to fulfill the ethnic quota."

Could have sworn that was called discrimination?
But its actually Affirmative Action which is a one-way street polite way of cloaking the 'D' word..

If an acting role or employment opportunity or a quote to fill University enrollment is devised to only help blacks, its 'great' and 'wonderful' and 'needed, thus we use the Affirmative Action title

If it was to benefit Caucasians, its "racist" and Discriminatory..

And few to none have the desire or will to fight the double standard.

Some shows that are aired were originally conceived as white but because the television industry is all about 'follow the leader', many good shows were altered needlessly to cater to blacks with examples including the leads in Extant and How To Get Away With Murder,
~ 'Extant' starring Halle Berry

Then you have other black dominated shows like Black-ish and Empire.. There's also an Asian dominated comedy called Fresh off the Boat

"But there were more broadcast drama pilots than ever whose leads had been designated as black this year. That includes Fox medical drama Rosewood, toplined by Morris Chestnut, and CBS civil rights crime drama For Justice, starring Anika Noni Rose.

Uncle Buck was rebooted by ABC specifically as a black family sitcom, with Mike Epps in the title role originated by John Candy.
~ John Candy's starring role in Uncle Buck will be played by this guy..

NBC opted to make the lead couple in its drama about diverse couples Love Is A Four Letter Word black in picking up the pilot. (It had been originally conceived as Caucasian.)...

There also have been a number of drama co-leads on which the networks chose to go ethnic this year, including Supergirl’s male lead, one of the four female leads in ABC drama Broad Squad and the female lead in Minority Report"

It used to be blacks fought against being pigeon-holed into roles as pimps and whores and maids, and then around the 1990s the networks decided every single small role depicting a learned professional - Doctor, judge, Professor, etc.. HAD to be played by a black actor even those less than 1% of blacks then and now hold Doctoral degrees.

And now original TV and film premises are altered to cater to them and they even have the audacity to want to play traditionally white culture icons like comic book super heroes and famous literary figures.
~ No wonder Downton Abbey is such a popular show.. Nice cast.  Only PBS could make this program today

Sorry to be so blunt but no black actor has any business playing Little Orphan Annie, Sherlock Holmes, James Bond, Batman, or appear in any Shakespeare play not called 'Othello'..

But ultimately the fault as always is with whites since they run the studios, possess most of the power and no black person is going to turn down the opportunity to make a living and earn a salary playing a role he/she has no business portraying..

Right now blacks represent 13% of the population and yet are depicted with at least one 'token' character' in at least 65% of TV shows and are represented in 95% of all TV ads even if for mere fractions of a second in the background...
~ An Acura commercial starring Jerry Seinfeld..  The black actor did not get the role as salesman by chance..  This is 100% Fact: the part was specifically offered only to blacks to audition for

That's a lot of power and influence in the entertainment industry for a group that frankly does not deserve it..

But this is how TV works..

One year there's zero reality programming on the networks, then Survivor becomes a big hit and within six months, there were carbon copy reality-based shows on all major networks..
Once upon a time, network TV didn't show evening soaps then 'Dallas' got very big and from there 'Falcon Crest', 'Dynasty' and another half dozen night soaps about the obscenely rich..

Its not politically correct to say but most blacks cast in TV shows are absolutely not needed in order to make a difference in terms of the program's quality and desire to watch.

Think upon the best and most popular shows on network television in the last 20+ years...

How many blacks were in Friends or Seinfeld or Will & Grace or Frasier or Cheers or Everyone Loves Raymond or Roseanne, etc?  None!!  And those shows dominated the Neilsens for Years and in the case of some of those shows, they will stand the test the time of popularity for decades to come..
We're absolutely positive this horrible trend currently in television will end within a couple years..

Only so many black eyeballs to watch all the total Drek programming catered to them and when Obama finally leaves office in 20 months, hopefully this glut Fad of blacks dominating TV programming will disappear with him.

But until then, our TV set will stay off during the prime time hours, and really that's not such a bad thing..

Some Truths about Steve Jobs

Today we're going to spend a few moments talking about the late, not-so-great Steve Jobs

So many tears were shed back in 2011 over the passing of someone who was not a pop star, a beloved actor or even a world leader but merely a man who sold us things.

Really little different than Orville Reddenbacker pushing his popcorn or famous author George Plimpton peddling Intellivision back in the early 1980's

Seems to most, Jobs was/is some kind of hero or idol..  So much so that after a movie was made a year ago on his life starring Ashton Kutcher, Sony Pictures is making another Jobs biopic starring Michael Fassbender..

We wonder if it will be an accurate depiction or a favorable gloss-over?
Will the film cover how Jobs swindled Steve Wozniak out of 90 percent of his share of payment for work they did on Atari's Breakout game?

Or the paternalism of a company (Apple) that doesn't trust its customers to use whatever software they like on the devices they've bought?

Or how Jobs threw a tantrum when his high school sweetheart got pregnant (at the time Apple's IPO made him worth $200 million), how Jobs lied in order to deny his paternity and then was angry about paying $500 a month in child support?
Or how Jobs alternately cajoled and bullied the tech reporters who were given a misplaced prototype of the iPhone 4, then pushed law enforcement to retaliate by breaking into a reporter's house and taking crates of possessions?

Or how Jobs would intentionally go about deceiving the tax man via illegal and/or unseemly maneuvering of backdated stock options and profits?

Steve Jobs was a terrible person..

Not just for all the reasons listed but because his sole drive in life and motivation to get up in the morning was to make money...
Didn't matter that he was a billionaire and everyone fawned all over him like some tech 'God'..

The goal was to make more money..and then more money..and then More..and More..

Fortunately cancer took him.

Yes, we said 'Fortunately' because Steve Jobs Was a cancer

Cancer cells devour healthy ones just like Jobs' existence was basically devoted to devouring any competition especially upstarts and feeding his personal and corporate greed.
Jobs didn't create a medical cure or develop some technology that enriches or lifts up the lives of the impoverished and constant-suffering around the globe..

He didn't save drowning children or rescue a puppy from a fire..

Jobs created electronic gizmos and toys; a means for people to store all their Napster-acquired illegally downloaded music files (iPod) and ultimately a device people could use to play video games, rent movies and watch porn while on the go (iPad)

And was 'kind' enough to make these technologies available for $300 to $1,100 a pop with alterations every 6 months making the previous versions basically obsolete.
~ Near death, still a Billionaire but without an ounce of contrition

Jobs helped a lot of people in a lot of corporations make a lot of money off his technology wiith Apple themselves none too worse for wear..

And Jobs dramatically raised Apple's share price thanks to a healthy profit margin aided by extremely cheap Chinese labor, like every other American company uses before going back to the States to target our consumer/consumption base.

We idolize the wrong people in this country..

We inspire (or tell our children to inspire) to be like pieces of shit like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Donald Trump and Jobs...
~ Two despicable, greedy, arrogant men... One down.. One to go..

And the true histories of these bad men like that of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, the Rockefellers, etc are white-washed over because for every ten acts of malevolence, they did some charitable and philanthropic deeds too.

Steve Jobs was no hero.

He wasn't even a good person..

But since when being a good human being was ever a requirement to be on the cover of Fortune or Forbes?

The All-Powerful Big-Six

We've written on media control before and today will do so again..

Back in 1983, approximately 50 corporations controlled the vast majority of all news media in the United States.

At present, ownership of the news media has been concentrated in the hands of just six incredibly powerful media corporations.

These evil, greedy and politically & socially influential corporate behemoths control most of what we watch, hear and read every single day.

They own television networks, cable channels, movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, music labels and even many of our favorite websites.
And whether due to apathy or ignorance, most Americans don’t even stop to think about who is feeding them the endless hours of news and entertainment that they constantly ingest.  They don’t really seem to care about who owns the media though they should.

So as we said before, back in 1983, 50 corporations pretty much controlled all media.. By 1987, the 50 companies had shrunk to 29. … In 1990, 29 became 23. …

By 1997, that number decreased from 23 corporations to 10 and after the Time/Warner Brothers merger of 2000, the number became what it is at present:  6

That is as accurate a list as we could come up with at the moment..

These six entities basically control what we all think socially, politically and about life in general..

These gigantic media corporations do not exist to objectively tell the truth to the American people.  Rather, the primary purpose of their existence is to make money and keep people docile...

They provide information but never any knowledge or encouragement for the audience to actually act/react outwardly upon it..  And all programming is meant to project racial/ethnic fantasy and utopia rather than be an accurate light upon the rotten condition of the world..
~ 10 Corporations combined sell hundreds of products..

Can't sell soap and sandwiches if they show people in need of soap and a sandwich living in their cars or on the street..

These gigantic media corporations are not going to do anything to threaten their relationships with their biggest advertisers (such as the largest pharmaceutical companies that literally spend billions on advertising)

One way or another these gigantic media corporations are always going to express the ideological viewpoints of their owners.
Real news and Truth is now found in independent media like here at A&G where no advertiser money is taken so no outside influences manipulate or mold our daily message which is to wake up, be aware of the reality of things, and learn to think and make decisions for yourself..

Whether you agree with our points of view or think we are full of um.. poo, if we stimulated thought and/or motivated you to question, then A&G served its purpose.
